Sustainable Denim, Without the Greenwash.

Sustainable Denim Factory China · GOTS Organic · Recycled Cotton Denim

Denim has a dirty history — sandblasting, sulphur dye, rivers of indigo. Our answer is not a mood board; it is a set of systems you can audit. Here is what this factory in Taizhou, China actually does, with the certificates to back it.

Closed-Loop Water

70% of process water is reclaimed through a closed-loop treatment system installed in 2024. Indigo effluent is settled, filtered and returned to the dye line — the rest is treated to provincial discharge standard before release.

Sulphur-Free Indigo

We dye with pure Japanese indigo in six dips — no sulphur black, no shortcut chemistry. Rope-dyeing in a closed vat means the dye stays in the yarn ring, the core stays white, and the effluent stays manageable.

Recycled Cotton Denim

70% recycled cotton across main lines, blended to protect yarn strength. The honest engineering limits — fiber length, blending ratios — are documented in our recycled cotton denim guide, not hidden behind a “conscious” label.

GOTS Organic Line

The Kids collection runs on 100% organic fiber, certified to GOTS since 2018 with transaction certificates issued per shipment. Hemp blend programs are in development — see hemp denim blends.

The Sustainable Denim Manufacturing Process, Audited

A sustainable denim manufacturing process is only credible when someone else checks it. Our environmental management is certified under ISO 14001, chemistry under OEKO-TEX Standard 100, social standards under BSCI and Sedex SMETA. The practical guide for buyers — what water and chemistry claims to demand from any supplier — is in Sustainable denim without greenwash.

Longevity is sustainability too: a 14.5 oz selvedge jean worn for years beats a fast-fashion pair replaced every season. That argument, in full, lives in the 30-day break-in guide.
